Wealth launched on a domain that gives it instant credibility.

The estate planning industry is ripe for redevelopment. From an outsider’s perspective, little has changed in this $180 billion industry over the decades, with many choosing to ignore estate planning altogether. A Caring.com study from 2021 suggests that two of every three adults in the US do not have a will.

Several companies have recently tried to reshape this industry, providing wider access to estate planning services. The latest to try and reinvent estate planning is Wealth, which will offer customers a secure digital estate planning platform, which includes considerations for current assets such as NFTs and cryptocurrency. The company immediately attracts attention thanks to its domain name, Wealth.com.

Wealth, launched to the public last week, has been working behind the scenes since the company was incorporated in Arizona in November 2020. Rafael Loureiro and Rei Carvalho, two experienced entrepreneurs, lead the company. Before creating Wealth, Carvalho sold his fraud prevention platform, Emailage, to LexisNexis for around $480 million.

Perhaps some of that Emailage money went into acquiring the Wealth.com domain name, possibly one of the most valuable financial domain names in existence.

Whois history suggests that Wealth.com changed hands between November and December 2020, moving into the possession of Rs Holdco V, LLC, which looks to be associated with Carvalho.

For over a year, Wealth.com hosted a basic landing page, revealing little about the project that was to come.

On March 22, Loureiro and Carvalho launched Wealth to the world and disclosed a $16 million pre-revenue seed funding round.

One of the critical components of Wealth’s product offering is the aforementioned digital platform, delivering an overall view of your current assets while also giving access to important legal documents such as a will, guardianship nominations, or healthcare directives.

Wealth boasts a “bank-level-encrypted digital vault” to store all of your documents and asset details. Its website is keen to stress its data protection measures, telling potential customers, “you can trust your information is safe.”

While any team with enough knowledge and talent can build a secure digital system, few can leverage the power of an ultra-premium .com domain such as Wealth.com.

For a new digital company asking you to trust them with your most sensitive and confidential data, using a great domain name is key to offering the right first impression.

Investing in Wealth.com from the outset suggests the company is truly serious about its service. The founders certainly hope Wealth.com is a company you’ll trust.
