Rebate.com and Rebates.com sell for $500k each
Sedo brokers sale of domains that were sold for the same amount in 2007.
Sedo has brokered the sale of rebate.com and rebates.com for $500,000 each.
That’s the exact same amount the domains sold for at a Domain Roundtable auction in 2007.
Since the 2007 sale, the domains have been used for various sites offering discounts and rebates. In 2015, they switched from general products to offering discounted prescriptions and medical health plans.
Historical Whois records at DomainTools show that the domains were owned by the same person from 2007 until at least late 2020. After that point, records are not clear. The domains moved from Enom to GoDaddy at the end of that year, and subsequent Whois records list a different U.S. state for the owner.
In August this year, the home page of rebates.com was changed to a site promising a web3 rebates program.
