Latest end user domain sales at Sedo
A sports drink company, an energy trading business, and a concrete and stone company bought domain names.
One of the frustrating things about GDPR and the move to Whois privacy is that it makes it difficult to figure out who bought domain names. For example, Editing.com sold for $46,000 at Sedo. It doesn’t resolve and has a Domains by Proxy Whois record, so I don’t know who bought it.
The number of domains with exposed Whois records continues to shrink. This means less spam for domain owners but a more challenging job for me. Even company names, which GDPR doesn’t protect, are generally masked in Whois records.
With this in mind, I could only come up with a short list of end user sales at Sedo this week. Perhaps in a week or two, more will be developed, and we’ll be able to figure out who bought the domains.
Here’s a list of end user domain name sales that just completed at Sedo for which I could determine a buyer. You can view previous lists like this here.
SCP.eu €27,500 – As with MMB.eu (below), this is a company acquiring a shorter version of its name in .eu. Somerset Capital Partners is a family-owned investment firm. It uses the domain Somerset.eu.
Light.fund $8,600 – I can’t figure out much about this company, but it has a snazzy landing page that states, “Together, we are changing the ways we invest, earn, and raise capital.”
MilfBook .com $7,500 – Yep, this will be a site that connects younger men with older women.
MMB.eu €5,999 – MMB Manfred Math Bausanierung GmbH is a concrete and stone company. It forwards this domain to math-bau.de.
Phy.co $5,500 – Phoenix Hydrogen says it connects “hydrogen supply and demand, so wind and solar can replace more fossil fuels.” This seems like a nice domain to use for short links.
Elixum.com $3,665 – Camelot ITLab GmbH is an SAP software integrator. I can’t find any connection between this term and the company.
PWRlift.com $2,500 – PWR LIFT is a sports drink with added protein.
Dogs4Sale.com $2,500 – I don’t know who bought the domain, but they’ve set up a WordPress blog. It will be interesting to see if people are actually selling dogs online.
EQenergy.com €2,500 – Energy Quantified, owned by European energy markets company Montel Group, helps people trade energy.
