Interesting aftermarket data from Global Domain Report

IONOS companies release in-depth report on the domain name market.

Sedo and InterNetX, both part of publicly-traded IONOS, released their 2023 Global Domain Report this week. It’s an in-depth look at the primary and secondary markets for domain names. You can download the report here.

Here are a few aftermarket charts that jumped out at me:

Will people choose buy now over make offer for expensive domains? Some certainly do. Take a look at the top (publicly released) buy now transactions at Sedo last year:

About 3/4ths of Sedo’s sales last year were buy now transactions. Let that sink in for a moment:

.Xyz entered Sedo’s list of most popular domains sold by extension, knocking .co.uk off the list and beating out .io.
