ICANN meeting returns to L.A. in November

Gathering for registrars and registries will take place in November.

ICANN’s Contracted Parties Summit (GDD Summit) returns in person this fall. It will take place in Los Angeles from November 1-4, 2022. The exact location has not been disclosed.

The organization informed its contracted parties (registries and registrars) of the event via email, and Michele Neylon of Blacknight posted details on his blog.

The GDD Summit is separate from ICANN’s three main annual meetings. It excludes the policy wonks and it’s where a lot of business gets done. It’s also a popular destination for domain name investors to meet with registrars and registries.

Combine these factors with the location and the fact that the event hasn’t been held since the pandemic, and I expect a decent crowd depending on the Covid situation at the time.
